With the NBA Finals potentially coming to an end tonight, with the Boston Celtics hosting the Dallas Mavericks for Game 5 at TD Garden while sporting a 3-1 lead, the start of free agency is right around the corner with some big-name players possibly on the move.
Along with superstars like Paul George and LeBron James, who could choose to leave Los Angeles in free agency, one notable name that seems to have one foot out of the door in San Francisco is veteran sharpshooter Klay Thompson.
With the Golden State Warriors and Thompson unable to see eye-to-eye on a contract extension up to this point, all signs seem to point to the four-time NBA champion leaving the Bay Area this summer.
Thompson has been dropping hints about his intentions as he recently unfollowed the Warriors on social media, which these days seems to be a passive-aggressive way of saying they are upset with the team they currently play for.
Although Thompson is not the dominant force that he used to be on both ends of the floor as one of the best two-way players in the league, the veteran guard will still have some intriguing suitors in free agency, with the Orlando Magic looking like the leading candidate to sign him, as there is mutual interest between the two sides, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic via Evan Sidery of Forbes.
Klay Thompson and the Magic remain mutually interested heading towards free agency, per @ShamsCharania (https://t.co/shXaKI6QfG).

It’ll be interesting to see if Thompson is genuinely interested in leaving the only team he’s played for during his Hall-of-Fame-caliber career in the NBA.
If he does leave San Francisco for Orlando, the Magic will have brought in an essential piece to the championship puzzle, as he’d fit in nicely with what the up-and-coming franchise is trying to do.
